¡Feliz Holidays!

What a glorious week of pure joy!
We had a lovely Christmas eve dinner with a hermana in papantla and we got to spend the night there with Hna Westover! Then Christmas morning we had a multi-zone activity and the elders made us breakfast, we watch a pioneer movie, and then played hilarious games! The best part of the day of course was talking to my beautiful magestic familia :) they are the best! love them all. <3
Ohh on christmas eve we did a service at the beach and picked up lots of sick trash then took lots of pictures and ate breakfast.

Lets go to the beach...

This week i felt like we didnt get much done. But none the less it was great!
We had our christmas conference (north half of the mission). It was in Poza Rica and it was...great. hahah i felt like all of the elders were acting like 15 year olds. The best part was that when it finnish i got permission to visit my converts in poza. So i went and saw Verania and it was so great! she made me cry lots. but it was so good to visit her and her mom for 5 minutes. :)
Our over night bags got stuck in papantla so its been a good week with out all of the basics. :/ this week when i was bored at night i made my companion play chubby bunny and we ate a whole bubble tape and blew huge bubbles it was hilarious!
Today we went to the beach!!!!! it was so fun:) i loved it so much! like a christmas day milagro!
FELIZ NAVIDAD! i hope all your wildest christmas dreams come true like mine:)
i love you all!!!!

niño perdido.

This week we had the Hermanas conference and it was really so great to see all my lovely friends again:) We had so much fun and it went by so fast!

Yesterday in mexico the celebrated dia de niño perdido ( day of the lost child).
Its a really cool tradition they have and i enjoyed it a lot. What the do is light these brownish candles and stick them outside on the side walks infront of their houses and on the stairs and it looks really cool. It is for when jesus was "lost" in the temple when he was a child and the candles are to light the way home.
It made me think a lot and then we go to watch the devotional last night and i loved it!
I know that Jesus Christ is the light of the world. He leads and guides us home.
and im so greatful that im hear helping people see His light.

i love you all!!

Something that i love about being a misionera is that i always im learning new things! I love learning from the investigators so much! Some times that have a million questions and doubt and it makes me think about a lot of things and i learn new things from their questions and it strengthens my testimony a lot!
I love Zamora and the people there but they say that everyone is chismoso (gossip) and there are so many rumors going around all of the time. So we are extra careful with what we say and do. We work really hard and try not to get involved with any of the drama.
Ive been thinking a lot about these ten months that i have in the mission and all of the things i have learned. Honestly for a really long time i felt like i was not progressing at all and everything was always just the same. Looking back in these past few months i can say that ive learned a lot. That my Faith has grown and my love for the gospel of Jesus Christ. A scripture that i have leaned on a lot lately says to walk by faith not by sight. I know that if my faith is in my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ then i have nothing to worry about. I trust in them and the plan that they have for me. I know that everything happens for a purpose and its to help me in my progress here in this earthly life.
Also im so grateful that i have a mother and a father who have never left the church. They have had a great influence in helping me stay true to the gospel dispite all of the problems and trials that i face.
I love this gospel because i know it is the truth and it brings me the happiness i need to be healthy :)
I love you all!

Well everything is super great here in Gutierrez Zamora. Its super pretty here and reminds me of  a small coastal town in california:) There is a super huge river that is just lovely and i want to go kayaking in it!
My companion is hna Torrez. She is super cute and little and from Nicaragua! que chido. She is a super hard worker and i love her!
We had a baptism on sunday Isabel and Jaime (mom and son) They are amazing and i love them so much!!!!
It was super hot my first day here and it has been freezing the rest of the days! so rainy and cold! Good news is that we have HOT water to shower with and its the best!
Also ive never seen so many white looking mexicans with colored eyes in one town i dont feel so alone now haha:)
i love and miss you all!!!

Well this week started off interesting when hna Gailey got to spend two days with us and we decided it might be a good idea to dye my hair. So we picked out a brown color and monday dyed it. kind of a ginger now. It was a mistake pero ya ni modo! Im living with it. but its faded super fast which is a good thing.
Yesterday we got told our cambios and im going to la goma! Its an area close to papantla, like 40 minutes away. So close that i will be in the same zone, but i will be like 10 minutes away from the ocean! que emoción:) Im excited but nervous like always for transfers, but i have a good feeling about it! But i will be sad to leave this area for sure :(
The most exciting thing happend on sunday i got a phone call from my convert Verania! Remember her? It was so good to talk to her and know that she is doing super good. i love and miss her lots!
I love you all!

This week we ate SO many tamales. Good thing i think they are delicious!
Everyone Celebrated Dia de Muertos saturday and sunday. We took a walk through the Cemetary to look at all the food and flowers that they put on the graves and there was soooo many people and best of all there was lots of mariachi bands playing for the dead gente. I enjoyed it:) (Some times i have a really hard time trying not to dance when i hear cool mexican music...its a struggle!)
I really love Mexico and all of the cool traditions they have:)
Im doing good. Dont really have anything interesting to report.
I love you all!

Diablos en sus dentes.

Every week goes by so fast!!!!
Im going to tell you all the story of Luis...
Luis has like 21 years and he is super cool. The first time i met him was back in July when i was with hna Juarez. One day he was sitting near our house talking to his girlfriend who is a member so we stopped to talk to them for a little while. The Girl moved away to study and Luis moved to Veracruz to study also. i never really thought about them again. About a month ago i received an email from Luis saying that he always regretted not talking to us more and learning more about the church. I was super confused because i could not remember ever talking to Luis. I sent him an email back telling him about the church website and how he could contact the misioneros closest to him. The next week he sent me another email thanking me and telling me how he is talking to the Elders and he is super excited to learn more about the gospel! A few weeks ago he came back to papantla and when i saw him i finaly recognized him back from July. Yesterday he was baptized by the elders in the other ward but we were able to go and i got to share a message at his bapitsm:) it was really great and even thought it wasnt one of my baptisms i still felt like i had a small role in his conversion to the gospel. He is super great and has so much faith and a super strong desire to learn as much as he can about the Church!
Hna Vera and I have been talking a lot about Diablos en su dentes (cavities) because we are always eating junk and now have decided to be better about eating healthy things! No more Diablos en mis dentes!
I love being a misionera! Its the best thing in the whole world!
-Hermana Gunnell

- I love doing divisions with Hna Gailey!!! She is the best!
-We love Nacho libre corn :) Its the best!
-Luis. He is the best!

OH...can you believe that i have 9 months now. Crazy...time goes by so fast!
This week was full of lots of Birthday fun. My companion turned 21 the 16th and the Elder in our ward turned 20 the 17th. There was a lot of confetti which i love:)
We had the baptism this week of Sergio Daniel and it was super great! I will admit that i was a little doubtfull that it would happen because i wasnt convinced that he really wanted to be baptized. He has a very strong past and has made some huge incredible changes in his life. Yesterday i really could see his desire to be baptized and how happy he felt after. it was amazing:)
I love being a misionera and seeing the difference that the gospel makes in peoples lives. Its the best!

¿How Old is Your Soul?

Mi juventud ya cabo..:,(
Now that im 20 years old ive been thinking a lot about age. 20 is a lot, but really its nothing. Then i was wondering all week how old my soul is? Just a thought...
We had a super good week and i learned lots of new things! i now know how to make tortillas with the machine and with my hands. ¡Delicious! Then i learned how to make some other things that i dont know the name in english. i also ate a chicken foot this week!!!! SICK! i was so scared of it for reals. We ate mole about 6 times in the week. Good thing i like it kind of. We ran out of water the day before President Greer and hermana Greer came to our house for interviews...hopefully we didnt smell too bad haha.
This week Cinthya got baptized and is was so great! i love her a whole lot:) It was a dramatic day for her and she had all kinds of emotions going on but by the end she was very happy and content:)
I dont remember what else i was going to write about but i sent lots of pictures!
I love you all!!!

This week was a rough one... right now my favorite scripture is 2 Cor. 12 9-10. Read it.
I loved General Conference! It was so good and inspired! I hope you all got to watch it:) I tried some interesting foods this week Pig skin soup, wasnt to bad ;) and Mondongo (picture below.) It is a Cow stomache. Barf. It didnt taste terrible because it had tons and tons of chilly but the texture was sick! they call it towel because it has like little hairs on it. eww....... im glad we dont get it a lot!
Ive been thinking a lot lately about trials and how we are becoming perfected in them. So im trying to enjoy my weaknesses and the trails i have so that i can learn and grow from them. Its hard, but im working on it.
I love you all!
Be happy and have paciencia :)
